Monday, Wednesdy and Friday Lab!

Hi 6th graders.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday we were working on a lab. We worked with mirrors, lenses and prisms.
There are three types of mirrors: flat mirrors, concave mirror and convex mirrors.
There are two types of lenses: convex and concave lenses.
There are many types of prisms: there is a rectangle, a half circle, a triangle, a concave lens shaped and a convex lens shaped.
We did experiments whit all of these objects. It was so cool. Whit a concave mirror and a convex mirror we could see our-self and other 6th graders up side down. With the prisms we would shine light at the prism and we sow a little rainbow and how the light bends.
This was the fun part. Now comes the horrible part! We have to do the 15 analyses and conclusions questions for next Friday.REMEMBER! You can always turn in a first draft before Wednesday.
Remember to study! We have a test on Friday! It is about the vocabulary, light behavior, EMS and the eye dissection. REMEMBER! There is a study section on Wednesday at lunch.
Hope you liked it! :) ! (:
The next scribe is.... Courtney!

  1. Good post Lara! The pictures were really nice, but I think you should explain more about the different types of prisms, mirrors, and lenses. Also the ending, when you mention the next sribe, is not very eye-catching. I almost missed it. Try putting it in another color or in bold. However, I really liked the colors you used in the rest of the post! Good job on your first post!!!!!!!!!

  2. Interesting post Lara,
I would recommend that you check your spelling and grammar. Also you should work on the transitions between sentences. You should also expand more on what you did and put it in an easier to follow way, not just listing facts. You should also include captions to the pictures.

  3. Hi Lara,
I really like the pictures and I love the colors! You could have put the "REMEMBER" part in another color or made it bigger. You also could have explained what EMS is, and check your spelling! Also, I believe that ourself is one word, not separated with a hyphen (our-self).

But all in all, I loved the colors, pictures and most of the information! I also think that you did the labels wrong.

  4. I like your scribe Lara! I like the amount of colors you included and the pictures you put on your scribe! Next time you might want to include a bit more on what we did in class and you should check your spelling! Great 1st post and keep it going!

  5. Hi Lara. Great post, however i found all the pictures distracting and the light blue color hard to read. Also there wasn't much writing in this post. You also spelled a few things wrong however I'm not one to talk :). However this post did have lots of Information and good pictures.

  6. Hey Lara,
Your first scribe post was excellent in my opinion! I liked how your post was very colorful and it was full of helpful pictures! It was also full of interesting information. I think that your scribe post would have been helpful to anyone who was absent then! I do think that in the future you could make your font a little bit bigger and you could have labeled the first three pictures just so the reader knows what is what! You could also check your spelling. In conclusion awesome blog post, way to go!

  7. Hey, great post. I understood a lot of your post, and the pictures helped explain the different lenses. I also liked that you included a test, to remind students, and other assignments and stufy meetings at lunch. My advice is just to watch your spelling.

  8. Lara - your post is quite colorful and you have included some excellent pictures to help understand what we were doing in class. Unfortunately, you have not explained what the pictures are showing and which mirror is which in the beginnning. Plus, you really did not include enough of the science covered in this lab. I do like how you reminded people of the quiz and homework, as well as turning in a rough draft. One thing before you post in the future, be sure to spell check and grammar check your work. You have a few mistakes in here. Overall, nice job :) Ms. D.

  9. I am sorry if the pictures in the beginning are a bit confusing but it really did not turn out like I wanted it.

  10. I loved your post Lara! I really liked how you used different colors to attract the reader! But I think you should revise your spelling, and maybe add a bit of informatinon on how mirrors and lenses work and tell us more about what we did in class! Other than that though, it was really nice, especially how you included so many pictures, so that anybody who hadden't assisted to the class could still be able to understand! I really enjoyed reading this post!

  11. Hi Lara,I think your post is almost perfect. The pictures really helped me understand what we did in the lab. Your comments were sometimes funny and it was great that your wrote everything you knew. One suggestion - you could maybe add more information about light and how it travels.
