Throwing pictures:
<--That, Is Davide
Your Welcome Davide :)
Science Class May 19
In Class we did Independent Variables, and Dependent Variables, Controlled Variables, and Uncontrolled Variables. Iv's, Dv's, Cv's, And Uv's.
A Independent Variable: Is the change in an Experiment.
For Example: Changing Tail-Gate up or down, or the amount
A Dependent Variable: Is the things I Observe in an Experiment
For Example: Measurements at the end, or Conclusion
A Controlled Variable: Is What I keep the same in An experiment
For Example: ALWAYS the same Scientist, and or other things like same Ruler
A Uncontrolled Variable: Is errors, or unexpected things that could have gone wrong.
For Example: Like Weather or Human error's.
After we did that we Began our new lab with airplanes... You can find the packet for this lab at (zagreb.ceesa.net) Requires Login...
If you want to make an Airplane similar to the one we are using in class below are the instructions...
Directions for Making a Basic Paper Airplane
1. Start with an A4 piece of paper.
2. Fold the paper in half length-wise. (You should end up with a long narrow piece of paper.)
3. Open the paper again.
4. Take one corner and fold it towards the middle. (The folded triangle should be a right isosceles triangle).
5. Do the same thing with the other corner.
6. Fold the airplane in half along the fold you made in Step #2.
7. Take one edge that is parallel to the fold you made in Step #2 and fold it down so it meets this fold. (This makes the wings!)
8. Do the same thing on the other side.
9. Add two paperclips to the bottom of the airplane.
We made a few of these in Class and through them in the hallway..
Some of our throwing pictures are at the top..

Duncan,
ReplyDeleteNice post! I love the pictures of your class. Also nice idea to to post instructions on how to make the paper airplanes you all made in class! However next time you could maybe explain why you made paper airplanes. What was the point of making them? Did they teach you anything?
Good post!
-Holly (:
Hey Duncan :)
ReplyDeleteGood job with your blog. I thought that the pictures at the beginning were a great way to start your post, and that the examples of the IV, DV, UV & CV were also super helpful. Additionally, the instructions to make a paper plane are really simple to follow! Kudos with that! The only thing you should watch out for is your punctuation, such as capitalizing common nouns in the middle of your sentences is incorrect. All in all, a swell job :)
Hello Duncan,
ReplyDeleteI like your blog post and the pictures are great! I think you did a good job at explaining hte IV, DV, CV, and UV. The DV is also what you measure during the project and the IV is what you change in your experiment.. A spelling mistake is when you said "We made a few of these in Class and through them", you shoud say "threw them" because it at past tense. Except this error evertyhing is perfect pretty much. Good Job!

hello Duncan, overall your scribe post was O.K. In the beginning there were too many pictures and not enough words to describe why they were there at all, and it is only explained later why there are there and, even less how the pictures are related to science, for example, why is the picture of Davide in your post? that had nothing to do with the science of that class but that he was there. The other thing that I am not sure of is that are the IV's and DV's only yours, if so then that does not show the opinnoin of the class, and the blog is about the class. Also the colors were only helpfull in some parts and after reading your post they became disturbing.
ReplyDeleteHey Duncan! Great job on your blog post it was very good! I loved how you explained IV and DV. You also had a good explanation on how to make a paper airplane. however you might want to mix the pictures and text. And you might also want to add more writing. However good job!

Nice post Duncan. It has a nice choice of font in the beginning when listing the IVs, DVs, CVs and UVs,; however, the font when describing the plane and the homework are a bit eye straining. The pictures are a very nice touch, and show what you’re doing; yet, you didn’t describe why you made the planes or why you threw them. You could also include a few links that relate to the experiment you were doing in this post. Overall a very nice job.
ReplyDeleteDear Duncan,
ReplyDeleteNice job on your blog post! I liked the pictures of the class that you put. I thought that the pictures were very cool. I also liked that you included different colors fr different sentences and I think that it made your blog post better. I would like to suggest that you include links to videos on how to create paper planes so that if a person is confused on how to make a paper plane, he/she will always be able to take a look at the video. Overall, nice job Duncan!
Duncan! This is your brother speaking! Your blog post is good, but it has some flaws. First up: The good. Your post is concise and simple. Your descriptions of IV and DV etc are really good. The bad is your grammar and what purpose do the pictures serve? There is virtually no description of what they do. Keep up the good work.

Hi Duncan!
ReplyDeleteI suggest that you watch your grammar a bit more next time. For example, I saw that you wrote "a independent variable", but its actually supposed to be "an independent variable". So next time just make sure you read through it a second time.
And I really liked the pictures!
Thanks For all The comments =)

Duncan - Your post looks good overall. I like that you have pictures from class, but it would have been helpful to have them throughout the post, not just at the beginning. Your choices of colors are easy to read and make things important stand out, especially the Variables. You have a few spelling errors and I am not sure why there are so many random things capitalized in your writing throughout this post. It makes it difficult to read smoothly. Also, you could have hyperlinked the Moodle address or my email addresses to make the linking easier for someone who wants to use them. Finally, I think you could have gone into a bit more detail about why we are doing this particular lab and what it's focus is on scientifically (variables in an experiment). However, it's mostly easy to read and understand and you have put forth good effort for your first Scribe Post. ~ Ms. D.
ReplyDeleteHi Duncan! I really liked your post! I do like the pictures of people throwing airplanes, testing the speed of airplanes. I also liked your definitions for IVs DVs. I really think that you shouldn't change anything, because sometimes if you change something you make it even worse. The only thing you could change is actually by choosing five or four colors, because it's too colorful and a little bit hard to read. You could change your spelling.
ReplyDeleteOverall, nice work Duncan!

Hey Duncan,
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your blog. I loved that you put a lot of pictures that you took in class. I also liked the info that you put on it. the pictures, color and exitment in your post. The information was really good but i think that you could add more science. But other wise... GOOD POST!
Karin
Nice pictures Duncan. You could maybe have taken pictures of people actually doing science, instead of 5 pictures of a group of people throwing a paper plane. The colors look fine, it's all readable. Thanks for the instructions on how to make the plane. I am sure that there are some people who will try it.
ReplyDeleteAlso the different variables are useful since I still have some problems with them, and checking this post is easier than looking for a paper deep inside my notebook.
I think you did a really did a nice job. BUT... the wierd picture of Davide served you no purpose. Next the other pictures, you should have put some kind of discription under them because saying "Throwing pictures" really doesn't do much to help. Otherwise you did a nice job with the science so I have nothing to say for that one.
ReplyDeleteSo overall...
GREAT JOB MISTER. MCALOON(I KNOW THATS NOT HOW YOU SPELL YOUR NAME)

Hey Duncan,
ReplyDeletenice job on your blog post!
I liked it how you included oh so very wonderful pictures and gave a brief summarization of your science class. You gave list of some helpful science vocabulary that filled in the science part of your blog. I also liked the color you made use of as it made your blog easy to take note from and easier to comprehend. For the future, however, I suggest you limit the amount of pictures you put up on your post as it takes up to much unnecessary space. All in all, I thought you did a great job with your blog post and made it look quite attractive.
